This gig will be a lot of fun. We are really excited to premier new music and to perform music from our 2015 release Hope In My Pocket.
"A true collaborative trio BERARDI/FORAN/KARLEN features the talents of three distinctive Australian artists. Formed in 2015 by vocalist Kristin Berardi, pianist Sean Foran and saxophonist Rafael Karlen the trio has already performed at The Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, Bennetts Lane (Melbourne), The Foundry (Sydney), The Brisbane International Jazz Festival, Floriade Festival (Canberra), and the Noosa Jazz Festival. The trio features three of Queensland and Australia’s most awarded young Jazz Artists with all members being having released several internationally acclaimed albums as band leaders in a variety of ensembles. Between the three of them they have performed in Canada, America, England, Scotland, Sweden, Germany, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, and throughout Australia.
The Berardi/Foran/Karlen Trio will perform new compositions and works from their debut album Hope in My Pocket which recently earned them the Queensland State Award for Excellence in Jazz at the Australian Art Music Awards and the QMA Jazz Composition of the Year Award."
